Care Guide

Our leather products are built to last. Treated well, they doesn't just survive the years - they improve with them.

Understanding Your Leather

Your Timeless Display piece is made from top-grain leather - the same tier of material used by quality bag and accessory makers worldwide. It's been lightly finished for uniformity while retaining the natural grain and character of the hide.

What this means in practice: it's durable and reasonably forgiving, but it does respond to its environment. A little routine care goes a long way.

What good care looks like:

  • A quick wipe after heavy use
  • Conditioning a couple of times a year
  • Keeping it out of prolonged direct sunlight and away from heat sources
  • Dealing with spills promptly

That's genuinely all it takes.

Day-to-Day Care

For routine maintenance, a soft dry cloth is all you need. A quick wipe over the exterior every couple of weeks removes the light surface dust and skin oils that accumulate with handling.

The microfibre interior lining can be kept clean with a soft brush or a gentle shake out. Avoid pressing hard on the lining - it's designed to protect your watches, not handle abrasion.

Cleaning

What you'll need:

  • Two soft microfibre cloths (one damp, one dry)
  • A small amount of mild, pH-balanced leather cleaner or a drop of gentle hand soap diluted in warm water

How to clean:

  1. Dampen one cloth - wrung out well so it's barely moist, not wet
  2. Wipe the leather exterior in gentle, circular motions. Work in sections rather than rubbing back and forth across the whole surface
  3. Don't scrub. Let the moisture do the work
  4. Wipe down with the dry cloth immediately after
  5. Leave it to air dry at room temperature - this is important

Never use a hair dryer, heater, or leave it in direct sunlight to dry. Heat causes top-grain leather to stiffen and crack. Room temperature, out of direct light, is always the right answer.

If you're using a cleaner for the first time, test it on a small, inconspicuous spot first and let it dry before proceeding.

Storage

When your roll isn't in use, keep it somewhere with reasonable airflow - not sealed in a plastic bag or box, which traps moisture and can promote mould over time. A dust bag or cotton pillowcase works well if you want to protect it.

Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight. UV exposure will fade the leather gradually, which is less interesting than the natural patina that comes with handling.
